While everyone was focusing on Parker’s rave reviews of the 2008 Bordeaux vintage a funny little thing happened in the Rhone Valley. Parker amended his scores for the 2005 Guigal, Cote Rotie, La-Las. In April Parker upgraded his scores in the following way:

These were much bigger jumps than is normal, and was largely unreported (I couldn’t find any blogs / articles calling this out).
This means that Parker has now given the La-Las a grand total of 22 100 perfect scores! As the Brits would say bloody amazing.
This was followed by the Wine Spectator, on the web, issuing ratings of 99 for all three wines.
